During the classical round, the six conductors will each present a 20-minute program together with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century and master pianist Ronald Brautigam.

In this concert they present three of the best works ever composed for them together with the six conductors. In addition, a world premiere of a new work by rising star Mathilde Wantenaar, which will be performed by all 6 conductors.

A free entrance open air concert: the Proms. The six conductors are given a free hand to put together a program with only three conditions: there must be a personal story, it must be accessible to a wide audience and it has to include a work by a female composer.

The ultimate test: in this round, the conductors do not only work with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, but also with the Laurens Symphony Chorus and five singers of the International Vocal Competition. Each conductor will perform a 20-minute selection Selection from Puccini 1.

Six designated winners – Luis Castillo-Briceño, Yukuang Jin, Jakub Przybycień, Rodrigo Sámano Albarrán, Miguel Sepúlveda and Sam Weller – show what they have to offer during a spectacular final concert with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. This gives the audience the unique opportunity to experience how different conductors give their own twist to the orchestra and to the music. After the evening concert the prizes will be awarded by the jury.
