Lahav Shani has established himself as one of the most talked about young conducting talents. He is Chief Conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Music Director of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Wiener Symphoniker. Shani also works regularly with the Berlin Staatskapelle at the Berlin Staatsoper.
In September 2018, Yannick Nézet-Séguin became the third Music Director of the Metropolitan Opera, New York. Music Director of the Philadelphia Orchestra since 2012 and the Orchestre Métropolitain of Montreal since 2000, he becomes Honorary Conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra after being their Music Director from 2008 to 2018. He is also Honorary Member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
Deborah Borda is the president and chief executive officer of the New York Philharmonic. Previously with the New York Philharmonic for eight seasons as its executive director, Borda spent 17 years as the president and chief executive officer of the Los Angeles Philharmonic prior to returning to the New York Philharmonic in 2017.
Philippe Herreweghe was born in Ghent and studied at both the university and music conservatory there, studying piano with Marcel Gazelle. During this period he started conducting and founded Collegium Vocale Gent in 1970. He was invited by Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Gustav Leonhardt, who had noticed his innovative work, to participate in their recordings of the complete cantatas of J.S. Bach.
Martijn Sanders is former director of Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam. After studying sociology in Rotterdam, he obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration at the University of Michigan. In 2006, he left the Concertgebouw to dedicate himself to his roles on numerous national and international boards, as well as supervisory board memberships and advisory positions, ranging from business to the cultural and public sectors. He also works on consultancy projects in cultural governance and policy.
